This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Beauty without fuss
From the seller:
THIS IS A VERY OLD DRESS WITH 15 INCHES OF LACE AND TUCKS AROUND THE BOTTOM EDGE. THERE IS LACE AROUD THE NECKA ND ON THE SLEEVES. IT MEASURES 50 INCHES FROM THE BACK OF THE NECK TO THE HEM AND 22 INCHES AORUND THE WAIST. THE SLEEVES HAVE MANY SHIRRING AND THE WAIST ALSO. IT HAS A VERY FULL SKIRT. THERE ARE SEVERAL HOLES IN THE DRESS ABOUT ONE INCH IN EACH . IT HAS A LOT OF LOVELY DETAIL BUT WORN.
From Me:
This dress is all about the net -most likely silk- and about the details. There is very little actual lace or embellishment beyond the ruffles but the cut of the dress is just stunning.
