This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

1920's Lace Dress
From the seller:
Vintage Antique 1920 Hand-Made Flapper Dress
Up for Auction is a Gorgeous 1920s Flapper Drop Waist Dress made out of Filet Lace. This has embroidered flowers in antique white and blue, with blue and white beading. This has a very Art Deco look to it. I love the mosaic design on this. The front of this dress is shorter than the back. There is a floral embroidered lace under bodice, and a floral embroidered lace over skirt. There is a swiss dot design on the skirt. This is very detailed, a lot of work has been put into this Highly Collectible Period Dress.
Condition
This is in Great Condition. Staining, (which should easily come out with proper soaking), a few small holes (pictured), the blue silk hem is wearing off, some wear on the edges of the sleeves, the lace sash that wraps around has been broken. All in all, in great condition for its age.
Measurements
Bust: Up to 34", Drop Waist: 32", Hips: Up to 42", Length in front: 41", Length in back: 43-1/4"
From Me:
This beauty would have been worn over a silk slip most likely.
