This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Teens Era Summer Dress
From the seller:
Edwardian Cotton Gauze Print Tea Dress MED
This cute Edwardian tea dress is made from a gauze textured cotton with a taupe colored print. It has an embroidered cotton collar, cuffs and bodice front. It snaps down the front bodice and at the waist band, the lower skirt has 2 ruffles. The collar is dirty on the fold like and torn on the seam line, cuffs are torn and should be removed, it would be fine without them, underarm seam is torn on one side and needs mending, eyes at waist are a little rusty and have left pin point rust spots on the fabric behind them and a scattered few pin head holes. 42 inches around the bust, waist is 28, hips are 50 and it's 54 inches long. Very good and wearable vintage condition.
From Me:
I think the white eyelet front was added later to make this into a costume. It just doesn't mesh with the rest of the outfit - which is a lovely example of the mid teens era.
