This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Late 1900's Evening Dress
From the seller:
Offered for study, an elegant original circa 1908 lady's royal purple silk velvet one piece New York evening gown with a Brussels lace bodice that is draped in black and white rhinestones, with rhinestone accents at the split sleeves, a gorgeous draped skirt with a back bow and arhinestoned dress brooch above the hem. A back hook and eye closure, and a Petersham label that reads "Gannon, New York." Offered for study, in clean presentable condition, with a shattered silk taffeta skirt lining, and evidence that the bodice had a tulle lining. Shown with necklaces that are not included. A 32" bust, 27" waist, and 60" from shoulder to front hem. There are a few scattered pin dot to 1/8" holes in the lace, most to the sleeves, with one missing rhinestone to the brooch, and a few pin dot age flaws to velvet. All is reflected in the reserve price for this beautiful high style New York Edwardian era evening gown for study.
From Me:
COLOR!!!!! Based upon the waist length, this does look to be about 1908.
