This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Q: Hello, How long is the dress, from shoulder to hem? Thanks Feb-03-13
A: Dress is 40" from shoulder to longest part of hem. Skirt is scalloped with very pretty flowers. Thanks for your Interest
Q: Size? Bust measured flat, armpit seam to armpit seam? thanks! Feb-02-13
A: Dress is 17" from armpit to armpit. I do not know enough about these old fabric's to know weather mending the small nickel size holes in the shoulders would make it wearable. This is why I have listed this beautiful dress as being sold AS-IS. It is truely collectible, but because of the heavy glass beads may not be the best idea to wear it. Thanks For Your Interest
Q: Hi there -- what is the measurement flat across the front from armpit to armpit? Thanks! Feb-02-13
A: The measurement is 17" from armpit to armpit. Thanks For Looking
Q: I am very interested in your vintage dress and bag, but I have a couple of questions: Is it too fragile to be worn, assuming that I fix the holes on the shoulders? Will it just fall apart if worn since it is so heavy with beads? Also, I don't see any pictures of the matching handbag. Is the bag included in the bidding price? Thank you, Paula Feb-02-13
A: I don't think it should be worn the silk is very fragile on the shoulders. I am not sure but I believe thw weight of the beads is what has caused the holes in the shoulders. The rest of the silk seems to be fine, but because of it's age I would not recommend wearing it. Also there are two pic's of the handbag which is included in the auction. Thank You For Your Interest
From Me:
I give the seller many props for pointing out YOU DO NOT WEAR A 90+ YEAR OLD DRESS!!!!!!!! Le sigh.
The pictures are blurry but you can tell this dress must be dazzling in person.
