This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Saving the Best for Last 1870's Striped Bustle
From the seller:
Emerald green stripe silk 3 piece outfit, mostly dating to the 1860's, looks like the skirt might have been cut down in the early 1870's? Jet buttons closing the front of the bodice, with curved shaped sleeves, ruffles trimming bodice and cuffs. Charming separate sawtooth edged belt with tails. Partially lined skirt with wool floor brush, side pocket. In good presentable condition with scattered small holes, discoloration under arms, some loose buttons, waist band with some unsewn areas connecting the skirt, loose pleating at waist band, some dangling trim on bodice and again at skirt hem. Needs a little TLC, uncleaned as found. Chest 32", waist 22" approx. skirt length 42"
From Me:
How can you look at this and not think Saint Paddy's Day?
