This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Early 1870's Child's Dress
From the seller:
An adorable child’s 1870’s red and white checked linen dress that has been de-accessioned from a museum collection. The dress is adorned with red and white eyelet trim. It has a detachable collar. It is unlined and has a back button closure. The little red and white hand knitted stockings that came with the dress are dated 1861 and has the last name of Hikes. The dress is in good condition. It has not been cleaned so there is some age discoloration especially along one side of the dress that has a wide water mark. There is one missing button and a couple of tiny holes. The stockings are in fair condition and have scattered holes. Shoulders 10 Bust 22 Loose fitting waist 24 Sleeve length 9 ½ Length 20. Stockings 5 inches long Foot bed 3 ½ inches.
From Me:
I think this might be for a toddler boy but I'm not sure.
