This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

1860's Bodice
From the seller:
A charming 1860’s Civil War era cocoa brown silk bodice. The bodice has full pagoda style sleeves that are trimmed with thin bands of brown silk fringe. The front of the bodice is trimmed with decorative tan and white silk buttons. The buttons have attached brown silk chenille velvet and white silk tassels. The neck, armscyes and waist are piped. The bodice is lined with cotton and has a front hook and eye closure. It is in good and sturdy condition. There are small circles of underarm discoloration and the bottom decorative button is missing a tassel. There are no holes or splits in the fabric. Bust 30 Waist 22.
From Me:
It's a shame the skirt is no longer with this lovely bodice. I adore the buttons on it!
