This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Dressing Gown
From the seller:
A most attractive original late 1860's lady's white muslin morning jacket with inset eyelet lace accents and fine vertical pin tucks. An embroidered collar, tiny mother of pearl buttons to the front closure, and beautiful full ruched sleeves piped at the drop shoulders. 21" from shoulder to shoulder, a loose fitting bust, and 35" from shoulder to the shorter front hem. Shown over a period quilted petticoat that is not included. In very nice clean sound as found condition, with a few pin dot age flaws and maker's slubs, and one 1/8" hole to one skirt front. Quite a lovely post Civil War lady's garment.
From Me:
This garment is sort of like our robes are today -what you wore in the morning around the house. :-)
