19th Century Bodice

F
From the seller:

While I have seen many victorian riding jackets, this one stands out.  First, because it is brown, and second, because it has the plaid material covering the buttons on the front.
Now, I am not confident these buttons are the originals.  To me, they appear to be replaced - in particular with the picture that shows the safety pin with an extra button.
But, with that being said, it is a remarkable garment.  Again, as you can see from the photos, there is some wearing and tearing - but this jacket has quite a bit of age to it.
It is super small as most of these are, and if you need the exact dimensions, please let me know.  I don't expect that someone will purchase this to wear - rather to show.  But whatever...

From Me:

The sleeves look mid Victorian but the front style looks later Victorian.  Perhaps someone took their Mom's good silk bodice from the late 1850's, early 1860's, and add the plaid fluffer in the late 1880's early 1890's?   I'm not sure with this one.  Then again, maybe I shouldn't post after err...three on a Friday?   Yeah.
