This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Bustle Jacket in a lovely color
From the seller:
An original circa 1880's lady's deep midnight blue silk velvet bodice made for a bustled skirt, with matching passementerie and black glass buttons to the front closure, lovely chenille and soutache braided appointments, and an ornate corded drape to the tail. Lined and stayed, with an embroidered, beaded, and inset collar accent with matching cuffs. 16" from shoulder to shoulder, a 36" bust, 26" waist and 22" from shoulder to front hem. Recently de-accessioned from an Eastern Pennsylvania museum collection. In good sound condition, with just some normal wear to the velvet flocking, light perspiration to the linings of the armscyes, a few seams that have taken in, and one missing top button, often removed for the wearing of a brooch. Shown over a brown silk skirt that is not included. A lovely late Victorian era bodice!
