This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Late Victorian Wedding Dress
From the seller:
Cream colored, fabulous top of a very tiny Victorian wedding gown top with museum-quality, exquisite handmade padded/puffed lace of some of the roses and stylized hearts that would make “wow” trim for a memorable, one-of-a-kind bridal gown (actual color closest to top image) that could include this elegant trim from the late 1800s. The cream silk dress is shattered (lead content in old silk is different so the fabric shattered or shredded.) and not useable, but remains attached so a dressmaker could consider original recreation. The lace is in fantastic condition tho dressmaker would want to remove to repurpose. Photos show there is front and back lace. Would fit small gown or could be spaced out around the neckline for a larger size. Pearls are incomplete at the neck. The lace is approximately 10” deep at widest points and across from shoulder to shoulder is about 19”. Please note the detailing on the back is as lovely and elegant as the front. Has been stored in smoke-free home for decades. Please note other vintage clothing/textiles at auction. Thank you for looking.
From Me:
Even though the silk is shattered, I would have loved some photos of the skirt. It would have helped to better date this piece. I think it's late 1890's but it could easily be early Edwardian as well. It's from around that era though.
