This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Black (now brown) Lace 1920's Dress
From the seller:
Being sold as-is for fashion history study or display only, I have a very rare brown lace Flapper dress with beaded collar jacket. You rarely saw brown in a very early lace. The dress features a squared neckline, is sleeveless and has a lovely handkerchief hemline. The silk chiffon over jacket features a beaded collar and cuffs. The jacket snaps up the front. There are no stains or fading found, but this lace dress is quite fragile and tears easily. Most damage is upper back and around the arm holes. Looks beautiful on display...this dress CANNOT be worn so please do not ask for measurements. It is shown on a size 8 mannequin. The jacket has an unfinished hemline and needs the collar restitched. Low starting bid on this very rare 1920's two piece Flapper ensemble. Check back this week as I will be listing other lace 1920's dresses from this seamstress estate.
From Me:
I didn't include the pictures of the jacket because I'm not convinced it went with the dress originally. Black dye is famous for fading over time. My guess is this was originally black and faded to brown now.
