This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Bustle Summer Seaside skirt
From the seller:
Beautiful mid to late 1880's Victorian summer cotton gauze skirt. Skirt is very lightweight and super soft, sheer light pink with a little raised pink dot print, on the front, there are two rows of beautiful sheer floral lace, ruffle bottom with a large sweep.
Considering the age of the skirt, skirt is in pretty good shape. The only issue with the skirt is that here are some holes in it on the front. The biggest one you can see on the front by the row of lace flowers. That's the biggest one which could be patched. There are a few other smaller holes in the front, I think I counted four or five. A few very minor dot stains on the front but other than that, skirt is in solid shape.
Skirt looks much better in person than my pics. Sold as is with no returns.

From Me:
I'm pretty sure this is a seaside skirt. It may just be a nice breezy summer skirt but this style was popular for vacations.
