This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

American Civil War Overdress
From the seller:
This auction is for aVictorian over dress as is, the skirt bottom is raw edged, original lace up corset bodice with straps in Watered Sillk - no boming but seamed..... French tulle net lace embroidered skirt. There are holes in the lace as shown above but can be reworked for another dress or a Vamp Goth Saloon girl costume hence listed in both areas of ebay ~ this is authentic late Victorian, not new. Measures as shown above in item specifics....or a ball gown,We have several authentic stage wear costumes from the 1930s to the Victorian era we are listing, for those that wear true ball gowns and costumes for photos, gala events or some can be worn for upscale Halloween events as well. This is sexy for the era and weable as is with care, with a petticoat
From Me:
Based on the way it looks on the mannequin, I think this is a late 1860's Swiss waist with an attached silk net overskirt. I'm not sure due to the way the pictures are but it has about the right look for that era.
