1860's Men's Waistcoat

From the seller:

This waist coat dates to the Mid 19th C and is fashioned of silk taffeta, fully stitched by hand throughout, with its front lavishly embroidered in floral detail. The chest is padded in the interior to give a full, strong chest. Small stitched round buttons close the front, half are absent. The rear is in cotton, belting at its bottom with a buckle closure. This piece is sold as found, heavy staining is seen throughout, I have not tried to clean this piece. The rear collar neckline has some small breakage areas. The body of the silk is strong. Measures 40 inches around the chest, 36 inches around the waist, with 19 ½ inches in its length.
Vintage clothing is described to its best and sold as found…and described as accurately as possible. The items HAVE NOT been cleaned and should be cleaned prior to wearing at the discretion of the buyer. Often for proper fit, hang, and wear ability, pieces will need to be altered and/or adding a hook or snap here or there, with a seam closure or strengthening needed. Vintage clothing is most often worn previously, and if old stock, often has slight imperfections from storage, a hint of color or odor.

From Me:

Love the embroidery.
