This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Turn of the Century Wedding Gown
From the seller:
AUTHENTIC 1890's ( or earlier) VICTORIAN SILK 2 PIECE WEDDING DRESS. MUSEUM QUALITY!! Dress is in remarkable condition for being over 100 years old. High Neckline at Front and Rear, with detached collar. Long Victorian Sleeves with Lace Trim Detail and puffy at the tops.. Hook and Eye Closures through out. Peach/rose trim, with lace on the skirts hem. Due to its age, it is not recommend for wear, but rather a show or display item. Well suited for a museum.
Approximate Measurements: SKIRT Waist: 12" (seam to seam - measured on front) Total Length of skirt : 42" long. BLOUSE: is 16" long from shoulder, arm pit to arm pit is 14", sleeves are 20" long. All of our measurements are taken on the outside of the garment while it is lying flat. Since we are not professional seamstresses and since everyone measures differently, all of our measurements are approximate.
CONDITION: Excellence condition, for it's age. AMAZING, but it has No rips, tears or stains to the silk. One spot of lost to the lace trim in the rear.. Couple of stains to the lining on the skirts hem. Some age toning.
From Me:
Sorry I haven't posted all week. Work has been CRAZY. I agree with the seller, probably about 1898 or so for the dress.
