This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Child's Bonnet
From the seller:
Recently de-accessioned from a museum collection, with a 1975 accession numbered tag still attached. An original circa 1862 girl's ivory silk satin spoon bonnet with a very pretty ruched crown, trimmed in a chip straw and braided straw gimp, lined in a glazed buckram, and with a wired frame and buckram foundation. 5" deep and 6" across the face. In presentable as found condition, with scattered age flaws, some small surface holes and spots, wear to the edges, and some soiling to the lining from normal use. All is reflected in the reserve price for this Civil War era girl's spoon bonnet.
From Me:
Not as cute as the previous one but still rather lovely.
