This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Stunning 1870's Winter Dress
From the seller:
An elaborate 1870-1880 stripe gold silk moire and satin polonaise bustled and trained ball gown bodice that has recently been de-accessioned from a museum collection. The name of the museum and the cataloging tag is stitched inside the bodice. The bodice is lavishly decorated with gold silk pleated ribbon and eyelet trim. The back bustle area is trimmed with a large satin bow and streamers. The back train is trimmed with gold pleated ribbon. The bodice has a front button closure. It is lined with cotton. The bodice is in very good condition. There are no splits or holes and just a barely visible line of underarm discoloration. There is one missing section of trim on the back train. (See Photos.) A beautiful display garment. Bust 32 Waist 24 Back skirt length 59.
From Me:
Oh my! Imagine this with a pastel colored skirt and drool.
