This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Blue Mid 1860's Bodice
From the seller:
We are selling a large collection of antique clothing that came from a remarkable auction several years ago. All had been accumulated in a trunk by an early New England family. We are selling the items that did not have good identification or had some minor condition issues. Please check our other auctions to see all 60 items eventually listed.
A shame the skirt did not survive with the bodice.
Beautiful blue textured silk and lined in brown cotton.
The bodice has two piece coat sleeves typical for mid 1860’s.
Scalloped trim and black velvet trim at cuffs.
Has all 10 original embroidered buttons. There are two scalloped bands that drape from the front to the back. In excellent condition.
From Me:
No measurements on this one. Oh well. Still, a lovely piece.
