This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Late Teens Era Corset
From the seller:
This is a great antique Edwardian Corset in super, wearable condition and a popular size.
It even has the origional laceings with metal tips.
It was made by Madame Grace, part of the Kalamazoo Corset Company one of the best known of the era.
A lovely brocade ribbon adorns the top of the corset. It looks like it may have been worn only once. There is some light surface rust on the garters. A light perspiration mark under one arm. Two tiny rust marks I have photographed for you. Two small 1/2" places where the fabric over the brocade ribbon that is only 1/8" wore from being folded for so long.
Underarm to underarm 32" with bodice closed and laced and placed beneath the breast at the rib cage.
Hips: measurement taken at the hem 44"
Length from underarm to hem 17"
It could use a gentle cleaning, as it has been in storage for quite some time.
This is from my family's collection which was starteed in the 1920's. In my listings you will find clothing and accessories from 1850-1980.
From Me:
A lovely example of a plus sized corset. Remember, the corset didn't necessarily close in the back and you were meant to take a few inches off your existing waist size so the lady that wore this most likely had a 36" waist naturally.
