This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Bustle Era Wedding Gown
From the seller:
Offered for study, a very pretty original circa 1880's lady's ivory silk satin wedding gown with a built in tournure bustle and bustle pad. The bodice is lined and stayed, with a self fabric button front closure and a ruffled tulle accented decolletage. The skirt has a draped tulle front and a quadruple pleated waterfall train with double ruffle of lace to the under train, and a pleated ruffled hem. 14" from shoulder to shoulder, a 31" bust, 22" waist, and 53" from shoulder to front hem. Offered for study, in clean as found condition, with the bodice having evidence of trim removed leaving stitch marks that repeat at the cuffs of the 3/4 sleeves. The tulle of the neckline and front have failure. The skirt has a few minor flaws including one 1/4" surface hole and some minor soiling to the under train. All is reflected in the reserve price for this original circa 1880's special occasion gown with a full tournure bustle.
From Me:
I really believe this is more 1870's but either way, it's lovely.
