This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Fabulous late Edwardian Jacket
From the seller:
A beautiful Victorian double-breasted woman's jacket made of black wool with ribbon applique trim through out. Very clean. A couple of condition issues. The satin lining on the collar is wearing. One twist on the applique needs to be reattached. One of the buttons on the collar is broken. A group of tiny holes at the waist on the front near the one button, probably from buttoning and unbuttoning. It is very clean, no spots.
Bust: 33"
Waist: 28"
Shoulder to shoulder: 11"
Sleeve: 24"
Back collar to bottom: 21"
From Me:
Although it's hard to tell, the inside styling would suggest a late teens rather than an earlier date for this jacket. I doubt it's Victorian based on the front closure as well.
