From the seller:
A breath-taking 1870’s baby blue and ivory silk bustle skirt. The front of the skirt is decorated with a wide ruffled flounce that is edged with blue silk fringe. The bottom hemline is trimmed with a ruffle. The back of the skirt has cascading ruffles from top to bottom. The skirt has a long back sweep. It is partly lined with buckram and has ties on the inside for adjusting the bustle effect. The skirt is in very good and sturdy condition. There are no holes or splits. There is a two inch drip mark on the front of the skirt near the waistband, one two inch age mark on the bottom blue ruffle and an area of light discoloration on the back hemline. There is some soling on the inside of the hemline that does not show when displayed. A gorgeous display skirt. Waist 22 Front length 43 Back length 66.
This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.
