This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Purple Velvet Edwardian Coat
From the seller:
Edwardian- Turn of the Century Cloak or Robe
* Deep Royal Purple Velvet
* Cream Silk Lining
* Has been professionally cleaned. Free of must and dust.
* Measurements:
32" Bust,
30" Waist
56" Length
22" Arm length
14" Shoulder
* Round Elizabethan Collar, secured to the side with a large button
* Tapered Dolman sleeves
* Floor Length
* Needs some repairs; The bottom hem has fallen out in an area. There is a hole on the left arm, the right has a small repair. There are a couple small tears around the collar, and part of the lining is torn near the collar. Please see last 4 photos.
Other than these repairs, this piece is sound and gorgeous!
From Me:
I love all the Edwardian coats I've been able to find lately. Based on the waistline, my guess is this is pretty close to what would have been worn on the Titanic.
