This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Rather Cool looking 1890's Blouse/Bodice
From the seller:
In this auction you are bidding on a lovely antique Victorian bodice. Fashioned of a orangey brown (sorry couldnt come up with a better color!) brushed cotton with a floral print in greens, faded greens and teal. the interior lining is a red plaid on a tan ground. Contrasting brown ribbon bows and ruffles. I have had this bodice forever and love it to pieces. Something about this piece brings to mind the old west. if this fit, I would wear it with a pair of jeans! Condition is good, a tear to the fabric and a few extended areas of restitching needed-at the front of the bodice the seams have come undone where the brown ribbon is attached as well as near the neckline.
Label: None
measures (all items are measured flat in inches + doubled):
Measures:
Jacket: Bust: 28 waist: 22 length: 18 Sleeve: 19
Shoulder to Shoulder: 12
From Me:
Based solely on the measurements, my guess is this is a Young Miss bodice and not for a grown woman. Also, I kinda want to remake it in my size and pair this with a brown corduroy skirt and wear it to work. I think I can get away with it...;-)
