This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Black 1890's Outfit poss. Mourning
From the seller:
I'll let the pictures do the talking on this one....totally ready to wear 1800's satin, and fine wool black Victorian bodice and skirt. Straight out of a Vermont Farmhouse Attic....I found one tiny moth nibble on arm, and a small repair. Beautiful blue antique material inside bodice,12 pieces of boning, hook and eye closure. Did not see much wear.Winner will be tickled PINK when this beauty arrives!!
This is pitch black, any blue you see is my camera, and the sunlight.
Bust 36" Bodice length 19" Skirt waist 26" Hip 70" Skirt length 42"
Thank you and I do ship worldwide, and combine.
From Me:
Based on how plain the outfit is, my guess is this might be for mourning and not just a black day dress.
