Bustle Era Gown

From the seller:

A simple yet elegant original circa 1888 ivory silk satin one piece evening gown with a fashionable bunted bustle that was a popular style for young women. Lined and stayed, with a pleated side gore in a complimenting golden colored silk satin, a double pleated ruffled hem with matching pleats at the decolletage, and a lace up back closure with a blind hook and eye closure at the bunting. Shown with a necklace that is not included. Also included are a pair of period matching silk dress shoes. The gown and shoes have different museum accession numbers as they were both de-accessioned from a museum collection. A 31" bust, 23" waist, and 53" from shoulder to front hem. In good clean sound as found condition, with minor perspiration color at one armscye, surface wear to the binding of the armscyes, three small organic spots to the skirt front, and a sprinkle of pin dot to 1/8" light spots to the bodice. Included are the original bodice laces. The shoes show normal use with scuffs, most to the toes and heel backs. A darling youthful style evening bustle gown of the Victorian era.

From Me:
