Late 1860's Dress

From the seller:

A flattering 1865-1870 post Civil War gray silk and burgundy velvet one piece dress that has recently been de-accessioned from a museum collection. The cataloging tag is stitched inside the dress. The neckline and the edge of the hem are trimmed with burgundy velvet. The neckline has a scalloped edging done in gray silk. The skirt has a long train that is decorated with a wide pleated flounce. The back of the skirt has a pleated panel. The dress is lined with cotton and has a front button closure. The dress is in good and sturdy condition but does have age related flaws. There are circles of underarm discoloration, a quarter size age spot on the front bust and near the back waist. There are two tiny period mends on one sleeve, tiny splits near the back pleating and the lining in the skirt is splitting. A magnificent display dress. Bust 34 Waist 29 Front skirt length 39 Back length 61 Width at hemline 120.

  1. This would fit me! Except the front skirt length is about 10" too short...
