This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Cutest 1870's Hat!
From the seller:
Worn by Ann Isabells in the early 1870s after she remarried after losing her first husband who was lost at sea a few years earlier. The hat was meant to be worn during the day when leaving the house during the day. It was made by hand with blue file silk, hand made paper flowers and narrow lace and one row of clear seed beads across the top. The bonnet has a stiff frame with a stiff back border which is attached on each side and shown in 2 photos pulled back to see the structure. The size is 8" down the top and 12" around the front with 30" long cream silk ribbons which are original and have the expected wear through the light silk of a few small holes and light soiling. The bonnet is in amazingly good condition and is over 150 years old. Very rare.
From Me:
This is just too cute! The colors and the bright flowers are just wonderful together. I'd totally wear this right now.
