This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Cute Print! Bustle Era Skirt
From the seller:
This is an 1880's white cotton bustle skirt with a red and brown floral and abstract print. It has a pouffy shape at the front and sides, box pleats in front, with tinier pleats in back. The back is in an apron style, buttoning at the sides. There are ruffles at the bottom edge, a white cotton waistband. It's 25 1/2" around at the waist, and 36 1/2" long. It's in very good condition, the fabric is crisp, the delicate print still vibrant, with minimal fading, no running of the red dye. There are two small holes, some subtle discoloration along the bottom ruffle, about a foot long, perhaps a minor spot here and there. Wonderful for a springtime display, paired with a white blouse.
From Me:
The print on this is too cute! I would have loved to have seen the bodice that went with it but, alas, it's gone to history.
