This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

American Civil War Era Dress
From the seller:
A fetching 1860’s Civil War era cotton print dress. The fabric has a bizarre pattern done in shades of brown and light orange. The bodice is lined with linen and has a front button closure. The neckline is piped. The skirt is attached to the waist with cartridge pleating.
The skirt is unlined except for a band of printed cotton at the edge of the hemline. The dress is in very good and sturdy condition. There is no underarm discoloration. There is one small pea size hole at the edge of the skirt and a couple of other tiny pencil tip size holes in the skirt. Bust 32 Waist 26 Skirt length 37 Width at hemline 120.
From Me:
I really like the hem lining fabric. Seriously, I want a Civil War dress made out of that!
