Titanic Era Corset!

From the seller:

A classic 1912 Edwardian Titanic era beige cotton corset. The corset has a lacing closure and four attached garter belts. There is a wide band of beige lace trimming at the top and beige ribbon insert. The corset is in good and sturdy condition. There is scattered age discoloration and breaks in the ribbon insert. Reserve reflects the flaws. Bust 27 Waist 25 Hips 30 Front length 19 ½ Side 20 Back 17.

From Me:

Busks and I do not get along - at all- so I'm so happy to see a period corset without one. Woohoo!

  1. It still has a busk, look just to the side of the lacing (left). It's a front laced corset, actually. I saw one of these on the Met site recently. There's even one with lacing on either side of the busk!

    1. :-) I know what you mean by busk but I was thinking of the super evil hook kind where that middle hook will NOT let go and it's 10 a night and all I want to do is go to sleep but I can't until the stupid corset is off and I can get into my pjs. That kind of busk.

    1. Yeah, now that I'm home, I see the evil busk in the one I posted. Grr... Oh well, thank goodness there are plenty button front ones from the same period.
