This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Stunning Edwardian Wedding Gown
From the seller:
Up for your consideration is an antique silk and lace Victorian cream colored wedding gown with Battenburg lace and pearl appliques. This 19th century wedding gown is in very good condition considering it is approximately 120 years old. I'm sure it has been worn many times in the past. Under the lace is a solid silk under skirt overlaid with sheer silk. The bustier has bone stays. It is beige in color with large "faux" pearls. It has hooks all the way down the back. This exquisite wedding dress was purchased in 1998 for $2000.
There has been some repairs to the silk lining of the dress as shown in one of the photos. The silk lining is in delicate condition. There are no rips or snags that I can see on the lace dress. It's really amazing that this dress made it this far with so little repairs. There is some dirt stains on the inside of the train from dragging on the floor. This does not show - it can only be seen if you lift the skirt up. One must remember that wedding dresses were also worn after the wedding. The dress would be worn on special occasions. I displayed the wedding dress for about two months then it was put away in a cedar chest where it remained until now.
I have added all the photos which I thought would best represent the dress and its great condition. This dress would look great on a mannequin in a turn of the century setting and could probably be worn, very delicately, for a short amount of time......you would have to decide for yourself.
Size approximate is 6 to 8 for someone 5'2" to 5'4" tall.
I try to be as accurate as possible in my description, however, if I have forgotten anything, it was not intentional. It is very important to e-mail me with any questions or concerns you may have before making an offer or purchasing it.
This Victorian wedding gown is sold "as is" and is "final sale". No returns will be accepted.
I ship UPS or USPS insured - with Quantum tracking. I only use the best packaging to ship. Shipping is free for this wedding gown. Please note: I do not ship out of the US.

Thank you for your interest in this exquisite wedding dress of a bygone era.
From Me:
It's not Victorian. This is a wonderful example of an Edwardian wedding gown. My guess is from right about 1908.
