Teens Era Plum Colored Dinner Gown

From the seller:

This is a c.1914 silk gown. The fabric is a brown silk in an ikat pattern, with just a hint of plum, perhaps showing some Asian influence in fashion of this era. There is beading at the bodice, a beaded applique on the panel at the skirt. There is a layer of beading trimming the lace insert at the neck and at the edge of the lace sleeves. There are beaded buttons at the waist and on the skirt. There is a silk lining at the bodice, the lining and outside dress closes with hooks and eyes and a few snaps.

There is a brown layer of chiffon over the metallic lace panel in front, and over the metallic lace sleeves. The skirt has an asymmetrical drape, a panel in back decorated with beading, and a slight train. The fabric is thick, soft and pliable.

It measures 33" around at the bust, 27" around at the waist, these are outside measurements. It's 38 1/2" long in front, 51" long in back. There was a silk lining to the skirt that you might see a glimpse of in the pics, this has been removed. The silk lining the bodice is in good condition. There are a couple of spots on one lace sleeve, perhaps one small hole, the other sleeve has a very light spot or two, I don't see any other flaws to this wonderful dress. The color is brown with a slight puprle or plum tinge, the chiffon is brown, with no green tones, the lace is a metallic gold.
