This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Teens Era Blue Embossed and Speckled Dress
From the seller:
Lovely Vintage Edwardian Silk Velveteen Patterned Jumper Dress with Taffeta Moire accents. Titanic era. Listing is for the Jumper Dress only, shirt ,flower and pin are shown for display purposes only. Mint condition. Gorgeous details with pretty taffeta insets around hem waist and collar, covered buttons . The dress is a beautiful shape and the fabric drapes beautifully and has a great luster and sheen to it as you can see in one of the up-close photos. Interesting high neck on back. (see photo 9) The color is a stunning deep blue with swirl patterns in the silky velveteen. Fabric is strong, fresh and bright, seams are tight. It appears barely ever worn. The dress would be very wearable with no fragility whatsover , or lovely to display. Would be worn with a white Edwardian shirt or shirtwaist like the one shown. Very pretty!! Think Helena-Bonham Carter. KINDLY PLEASE NOTE: the shirt is NOT included in this sale nor are the flowers and pin. They are for display purposes only or to give you ideas to copy.

On Jan-29-12 at 17:56:11 PST, seller added the following information:
The measurements are as follows Waist 26" Bust (measured just under the armpit ) approx. 40" but there are several large deep pleats so not sure if I measured this right , as I included the fabric in the pleats. Measuring straight across from armpit to armpit ,without opening the pleats , I got 34" From top of shoulder to top of waistband is 13" and from top of shoulder to bottom of hem is 53"
From Me:
I really like this just due to the patterning on on the velveteen.
