This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

1790's Mules!!!!!
From the seller:
Wonderful and very hard to find Victorian antique leather and tapestry cloth slipper shoes, these are not marked and measure 9 1/4" long from the wall and ball is 3" across, these show some wear from age and use one ruffle across the front of one shoe has come loose (see photos) no breaks or tears.
Buyer to pay shipping, payment must be received within 10 days of auction closure.
From Me:
The last minute bidding on these was INTENSE. However, I didn't win them. :-( These aren't Victorian but are a lovely example of 1790's mules. Aren't they fabulous? The way the trim is done along the top of the shoe is characteristic of the time period.
