Turn of the Century Bodice

From the seller:

IMPORTANT !!!!!!! PLEASE read entire description & Instructions before bidding!

77-1890's Black Velvet & Purple Silk Fencing Bodice: This 1890's bodice is made of heavy cotton velvet and accented with purple silk and decorated with handmade soutache lace and appliqués. There originally was a note with this bodice with the young teenage ladies name and the year that she fenced in it. I no longer have that provenance. When you are young you don't keep everything that you should. The bust is 28, the waist is 22 and the shoulders are 11. The bodice is in over all good condition with only a few pin holes to the purple and some light age discoloration to the purple silk. There are some hooks and eyes missing at the collar and the soutache overlay. There is some inner staining on the collar. The cotton lining is in good condition. The threads on some of the heavy soutache decoration have turned brown over the years. You see this occasionally in clothing from this period. Over the years the dyes from the original threads change. This is a wonderful piece of fashion history. The bidding will start at .99.

From Me:

I know why the seller wanted to put this in the 1890's but I honestly think this is more 1901-1902.
