This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Bustle Era (?) Corset
From the seller:
GORGEOUS FRENCH 1875 CORSET
Waist 29" Bust 33"
Totally wearable
Very Good/Perfect Condition
From Me:
My really bad translation:
Cotton tulle, whalebone, and a border under the neckline in a blue satin ribbon with bobbin lace. Busk with hooks that has a swan's head at the top and marked "LOUVRE", the bottom marked "Phoenix" with a skirt support
...Sorry! I took Latin and Spanish in High School!
This is a summer corset with the thin summer weight fabric making up the corset. I actually think this is later than 1875 but we'll keep it there for now.
