This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Early Edwardian Day and Evening Outfit!
From the seller:
Antique Victorian Four Piece Dress Ensemble
Blouse ~ Bodice ~ Yoke Jacket ~ Skirt
Brown Moire Silk
Beautiful ensemble in excellent condition.
Nice heavier weight silk
Skirting: Full w/pleat style accents toward the base
Condition: excellent with only a few small brown spots (see pics),
two small tears by the back eyes that hook it to the bodice.
Under Bodice: Fully Boned
Excellent ~ minor wear
Yoke/Topper : Topstitched w/silk bow accent
Very nice, some underarm staining. some wear.
Outer Bodice: Fully boned, beautiful accenting, silk bow & accents around
neckline. Silk accenting on sleeve end.
Excellent: slight underarm staining (see pics), very minor wear.

Bodice Length at longest point 20" ~ Chest 29"
Blouse with Satin Ribbon Length 18" ~ Chest 33"
Skirt Length 41" in front ~ Waist 23"

Wow! The day bodice (the one with the long sleeves and not a lot of decoration) and the evening or dinner bodice are still with the skirt. The outfit is not Victorian but Edwardian (notice the sleeves and the pigeon front?)
...I feel sorry for those reading this on the RSS feed with all these pictures but they are very necessary to understanding the construction of each piece in this lovely outfit.
