This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Green Plaid 1860's Dress
From the seller:
An elegant 1860’s Civil War era green plaid silk dress. The fabric has a green, black, white and red plaid design. The bodice has full pagoda style sleeves. The wide cuffs are trimmed with dark green silk fringe. The upper portion of the sleeve are each decorated with three green silk tassels. The neck, armscyes and waist are piped. The bodice is lined with cotton and has a front hook and eye closure. The skirt is fully lined with cotton. The dress is in very good and sturdy condition. There are no splits or holes in the fabric. There is mild underarm discoloration and the skirt needs a waistband. The pleats in the waist area have been basted in place so the dress can be displayed without the waistband if so desired. Bust 34 Waist 24 Skirt length 44 Width at hemline 154.
From Me:
The tassels on the shoulder are so cute!

I have a very similar green plain dress in my collection but it is in sad, sad, condition. :( But it has little bits of fringe and a little matching cape so cute.
