This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

1850's Wedding Bodice
From the seller:
A well documented 1855 gold satin floral brocade wedding bodice that has recently been de-accessioned from a major museum collection. The attached museum tag gives the cataloging number and the person’s name who donated the bodice to the museum. The bodice was worn by Hannah Seely on Dec. 26, 1855 when she married William A. Rice. The bodice has a long pointed front and back. It has short puffed sleeves and the neckline is trimmed with lace. The neck, armscyes and waist are piped. The bodice is lined with cotton and has a back hook and eye closure. It is in very good condition. There is mild underarm discoloration and a few small age spots on the inside lining. Bust 32 Waist 24.
From Me:
Worn almost 157 years ago to the day.
