Blue Bustle Era Dress

From the seller:

This is an absolutely stunning victorian bustle gown! This one piece gown is fashioned of a vibrant blue silk. The cuffs of the gown are finished with gathered ruffles. Ten buttons fashion the front bodice. The bodice and the side of the skirt close by hooks. The back skirt is heavily gathered where the skirt meets the bodice. Both the bodice and skirt are lined with light brown cotton. This gown has faint under arm stains and one mend of the right arm pit (as noted in photos) This gown has light spotting, in areas of the silk. Along with scattered pin holes or small holes. This gown would be perfect for a historical display or a collector. The flaws with the dress would not be noticeable in museum/ darker lighting. My guess is this visiting gown could have been for a young woman. Waist: 22” Bust: 32” Shoulder to cuff: 17” Waist to bottom of skirt: 39 1/2” Shoulder to shoulder: 18” Please only serious bidders!

From Me:

The bodice style is still very 1860's which makes me think this was an 1860's gown and the skirt was just redone to follow the current style.
