This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Green Print 1890's Wrapper Dress
From the seller:
Beauitful Victorian ca 1880 Cotton Morning Dress w Watteau Train Sm
This lovely Victorian wrapper / morning dress is made from a beautiful bright green leaf print with a black and tan pin stripe in the background. IT has a brown cotton under bodice that buttons down the front, the front edges of the underbodice are covered with the same print fabric. The dress has a wide yoke with a wide ruffle around it and deep watteau pleats in back. The sleeves are leg o mutton style, gathered and full at the top and tapered to the wrist. It has a half belt that ties in front. The underbodice has a long tear, it almost looks like it was cut to give more room and the underarms on the lining are faded, there's a few very light spots, hard to see in the pattern. The skirt has a wide facing of the same brown cotton. IT measures 38 inches around the bust, across the back shoulder is 11 3/4 inches, waist is 40 inches and it's 55 3/4 inches long in front falling a little longer in back . Excellent condition.

From Me:
I'm still not sure why this seller thinks everything s/he has is from the 1880's...
The sleeves and the ruffles at the neckline show this to be a lovely example of the 1890's. I'm all about this print!
