Beautiful Blue Bustle

From the seller:

1874 Princess Velvet & Silk Bustle Gown:This bustle gown is from a very short period of time. It is one piece. These became popular in 1874 and the design only lasted a few years. This dress looks like a Monet painting. It is made of velvet, silk fabric, beads, and blond lace. The bust is 34, the waist is 28, the skirt length in front is 43, and the shoulder is 13.5. This gown would be for study as it is too fragile to wear. With proper conservation it could be used for museum display. It is constructed out of a deep teal velvet and aqua silk, and trimmed with silk blond lace. There is delicate bead work from the neck to the hem in the front. It has all its original buttons. The lining is made of cotton and is still sturdy. As you can see from the photos it is far from perfect. There is much damage to the blond silk lace. It just doesn't hold up. (see photos) There is extensive wear to the velvet at each shoulder. (see photo) There are some small holes, stains, and age wear. It is nothing very large and most of it gets lost in the design of the gown. It is a good size and would display on a real mannequin which is nice. It would be great for inspiration or study as well.

From Me:

Please, don't forget to mop up the drool upon looking at this beauty.
