From the seller:
These shoes have 2" high heels & were likely for weddings or other special occassions. Inside each is a label reading "Alexander 6th ave & 19th st N.Y."
From Me:
I bought these. :-) They are a perfect pair of late 1900's/early 1910's styled shoes. I really wouldn't be surprised if they were for a wedding given the style. They are so pretty!
BTW, today is shoe day! I'll be posting shoes as much as I can. Unfortunately, my puppy dog had a couple of seizures the other day (as some of you know) due to her epilepsy. I'm taking her to the vet so I'm really not sure how much posting I'll get in today. Hopefully, I can crank out a few shoe posts!
This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.
