This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Most Fabulous Turn of the Century Coat Ever!
From the seller:
Soft bone colored wool Edwardian coat with velvet applique and gorgeous buttons. Click picture for more images. Voluminous sleeves gather at shoulders and end in velvet trimmed cuffs. Shallow V neckline picks up the velvet design of cuffs, body of coat pleated and draped, then accented with stunning enameled filigree buttons. Back has half sash at waist with more buttons. Lined in silk. Has seen better days, clearly had been stored where lower half was near moisture.....some rust/storage stains at lower 1/4 all the way around, as well as some moth holes (all pictured). Great candidate for restoration, possibly shortening, or for study. The buttons and detail alone make this one truly amazing coat!
16" shoulders, 40" bust, 46" waist, 50" hips, 43" long, 25" sleeves
From Me:
*drools* Although this has those infamous big sleeves, the buttons and the overall cut suggest later. I'm putting this in the 1900's category.
