Very Early 1890's

From the seller:

A striking 1880’s two piece brown wool and velvet bustle traveling suit/ dress. The jacket has wide brown velvet lapels and sleeve cuffs. The front is trimmed with two rows of brown velvet buttons. The center back peplum is also decorated with brown velvet buttons. The bodice is lined with cotton and has a front button closure. The bottom section of the jacket closes to the side. The skirt hemline is trimmed with wide bands of brown velvet. It is lined with cotton. The suit/dress is in very good and sturdy condition. There is some mild underarm discoloration that mostly blends in with the color. There are a few scattered tiny moth nips. 34 Waist 26 Skirt length 42.
From Me:

Based on the sleeves, I'm thinking 1891~1892 on this. It *might* be earlier, as the seller suggests, but I'm doubting it. The bustle doesn't totally disappear until about 1893 or so.
