This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Fabulous Mid Teens Era Gown
From the seller:
Beautiful Edwardian Titanic Era evening gown in a vibrant (and hard to find) purple velvet with cream colored satin inset bodice decorated with beads, faux pearls and rhinestones. Organza ? fabric drapes over the sleeves and there are 6 beaded tassles hanging from that on each side (one tassle has come off but I do have it and another tassle has torn the fabric as shown in one of the photos). There is some damage as seen in the photos - a small hole in the satin on the bodice, a couple splits in the fabric lining the underside of the dress, light spots on the fabric overlays and the tassles have imprinted themselves in the velvet (I assume this is from being stored for years). In my opinion, these flaws are minimal considering this gown is 100 years old. Be sure to check my other listings for more wonderful vintage items.

Not Titanic but, Downton Abbey, eat your heart out!
