This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. Late 1890's Dress
From the seller:
An elegant 1890-1900 burgundy satin and velvet traveling dress. The burgundy satin has wide stripes of olive green. The bodice The front waist has a wide satin belt. The back of the bodice has long velvet tails. The bodice is lavishly adored with buttons of burgundy and olive green satin. The bodice has a front hook and eye closure and is lined with cotton. The skirt hemline is trimmed with bands of olive green. It is lined with cotton. The dress is in very good condition. There is no underarm discoloration and no splits or holes in the fabrics. Bust 30 Waist 21 Skirt length 38.

This is so cute! I'm guessing about 1898 for this lovely ensemble. It's probably a young miss dress based on the measurements.
